πŸ’› Heart-rooted: join me for a collective exploration of love

"People are like nuts - you just have to crack their hard shell."

Wisdom from my seven-year-old.

She was sharing what she thinks stops people from opening up to more love.

I couldn't have agreed more. πŸ’›

:::

As we move towards another commercialized and sugar-coated Valentine's Day that bombards us with 'shoulds' about love - I've started to ask people to share their unfiltered thoughts on love in all its forms.

In response, I've heard stunning reflections on discernment, protection, and releasing expectations.

The reasons people have hardened and opened up - and surprising insights on what prevents them from opening up more.

I've heard stories about how love needs safety, how it asks us to let go of control, and how we need places to express it as much as we need to receive it.

People have talked to me about their different selves - their guards that sometimes get in the way of receiving love, and this wise, compassionate part of themselves connected to love.

They have shared stories of love across species, love offered to strangers, and love discovered in the most unexpected places.

Through all these reflections - an image has emerged in my mind (thank you, AI, for helping me share that image with you!) and fuelled my desire to receive and share more reflections on love.

And that's where you come in...

I want to create a collective love story.

A series of reflections that uproot and expand the sanitized, perfectionist, and narrow 'chocolate and roses' love story that we already hear too much about.

I want to discover insights that can help all of us offer, receive, and believe that there can be more love in our lives and the world.

To do this, I need your reflections on love...

β™‘ On what holds you back from receiving more of it.

β™‘ What you would tell your younger self about it.

β™‘ A story about a time that you unexpectedly received it.

β™‘ Or the single most important shift you've made in your life that has allowed you to offer more of it.

I want to hear it all.

And then, on Valentine's Day, I'll start sharing back with all of you the first of five daily audio reflections on love - each weaved together from our collective experiences.

Everyone who shares a reflection will be entered into a draw to win a free 1:1 coaching session with me.

To jump in & share your reflection on one of the questions above (or a question I should have asked you but didn't) - send me a voice message using async.

It's super easy. Just click on the yellow bar that reads - 'send Jess an async' and record! After recording, enter your first and last name and then your email (if you'd like to be included in the draw). No need to create an account.

Send me a voice message

Or if writing is more your thing, you can do that here.

I'll be distilling insights from your reflections, but the details of what you share (including your name) will only be shared with me.

Stay tuned for the link to sign up to receive these five daily reflections on love - tentatively named Heart-Rooted - in the coming days.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts.

To love,

xo Jess

p.s. If you know others who would benefit from this conversation on love they can sign up for my email list here and stay in the loop on how this experiment evolves.

A 'morning altar' I co-created with a client & friend during a recent day of tending her vision . A lot is happening in the world right now and in my own life. Some of it is heartbreaking. Some of it's hopeful and exciting (more deets on that soon!). Much of it feels uncertain and complex. And in the beautiful mess that is being alive in these times - there is this ember inside of me. It's a part of me that I've been tending alongside others over the past four years. πŸ”₯ It's the grounding in...

🌸 Tomorrow is the last day to register for the June 22nd Summer Solstice Gathering in Chelsea - come join us! 🌸 Dear Reader, We all know scarcity well. It is a constant refrain - one the media serves up on the regular. But I’ve come to believe that there is far more abundance all around us than we can easily see. Most of the resources we have to support ourselves and each other aren’t visible in our bank accounts or our calendars β€” they are instead weaved and multiplied in our...

β€œDo you think they will be offended?” I asked my husband. β€œMaybe - but you should do it anyway,” he replied. That’s how I spent the eve of my 43rd birthday, wearing all the layers I could fit under my coat and sitting on the forest floor with some dear friends. We were on a moonlit forest bath and drinking sweet cedar tea as we closed out a magical walk. It was led by my friend - Shannon Clarke. I had reached out to her just the day before, "I know it's short notice - but can you guide a...
